Dorchester Youth and Community Centre (DYCC) was established in September 2016 as a charity (Community Incorporated Organisation) to provide Youth Services in Dorchester, and the surrounding villages. DYCC is a safe space where young people can: relax, have fun, make friends and be themselves. DYCC sets out to enrich the lives of young people within the local community, providing Youth Work activities that improve young people’s social and emotional development. Through well led and inspirational Youth Work, DYCC supports the needs and aspirations of young people, from all backgrounds with dedicated projects to support minority groups, championing young people as positive assets within the community. DYCC supports those who are Not in Education Employment or Training through a dedicated team of youth workers providing 1-1 mentoring, mental health support and personalised programs that enable the young people to challenge their perceived capabilities. We work with young people, using their interests to help build their self-esteem and confidence so they can begin to explore volunteering, work and education opportunities that work for them. DYCC has built good relationships with Dorset Council, local businesses and education providers to ensure we are able to support the young people in our community in the best way possible.

DYCC is led by a Board of Trustees, supported by a voluntary Management Team. The Youth Club is run by a dedicated team of professional & experienced Youth Workers who are supported by qualified volunteers.
